As many know, the holidays can be a bag of mixed emotions. For a lot of people, the past and present often bring sad or bad memories that some find hard to let go. These memories can be like a blanket of winter snow.
Yet, snow days can have a positive side if we change our outlook. If we take ourself back to our time as a child, where snow days may have meant we got to stay home from school in pjs, mom baked our favorite chocolate chip cookies, we drank hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows, and we most likely repeatedly watched reruns or had fun with some sort of art project.
While mom often felt half bonkers by the end of the day, we hoped for a blizzard! Snow days remind me of simple ways. Yes, when most of us laughed freely and loved deeply.
This holiday season take some time to reflect upon the past. Then, be sure to project for the future. Most importantly, whether you find yourself in the sun or the storm, be sure to hold to your warm memories.
